Shirt.Woot Derby #88: Music

Even though I am sorta in a band (we don't get together too regularly) and I love music, I just wasn't too inspired by the theme of Music this week. Here is my entry, The Lead Vocalist:

Shirt.Woot Derby #87: Art Deco

Art Deco is a cool style from the '30's - reminiscent of movies like The Rocketeer or Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I really love the style and enjoyed creating Art Deco Planes:

Of note, this is my first entry using my beloved Wacom Intuos 3 6x8" USB Tablet. It was a gift from friends; I fell in love with it immediately and use it all the time. Previously, I had just been using the little mouse touchpad thingamajig on my laptop.

This is BaldBob's First Post on His Art Blog

Hello, Everybody!

This is my art blog. This post is here in order to create a brief introduction. I intend to post all the new art that I create here, in addition to scanning in my previous art so that I have a one-stop-shop for any and all that might be interested in such a thing.

A bit about myself:

My name is Michael Kremer. I have been interested in art since at least the third grade (as that is my first art memory). My teacher had one of my classmates' parents (at least those that were willing, i suppose) come in each week to lead the class in some sort of art project.

My mother decided to come in one week to do a project on portraits. So, she brought in some history about famous portrait artists and the like, then we were paired up with another classmate, given crayons or colored pencils (don't recall exactly) and we were to draw portraits of each other. I recall my teacher looking at my effort with kind of a stunned look on her face and asking my mom if I had ever done portraits before (I took that to mean that it was pretty good).

And so that began my interest in art. However, I was never all that interested with color and shifted toward the pencil. So, you will note that the early scans (that I will upload at some point) are mostly pencil.

Currently, I have joined the Shirt.Woot.com community and am trying my hand at the t-shirt design business. I figured this might be a simple, free way to practice graphic design and get feedback along the way. I have been interested in graphic design since my junior year in high school; however, the one class my high school offered wasn't really the best. We were able to play with a few programs a bit and learned the basics of layout, but nothing beyond that - so, not too helpful. And since graphic design programs are hugely expensive, I haven't done much of anything until early this year when my brother offered me an older version of Adobe Photoshop.

So, anyway - that's probably a longer introduction than necessary - on to BaldBob's Art Blog!!!
